O SIM É O NÃO — DE HESITAÇÃO DO VERSO

Dizer sim
ao poema
rés do chão,
entre as ruas,
que rechaça
as alturas
e os enjoos
turbulentos.

Dizer não
ao poema
da amplidão,
dado à lua,
que tem asas
e flutua,
e que ao pouso
é infenso.

Dizer sim
à dicção
analgésica,
do suador,
à dicção
novalgínica,
do antivírus.

Dizer não
à dicção
toda héctica,
dos tremores,
à dicção
convulsiva,
do delírio.

Dizer sim
à poética
pensa à prosa,
que não sabe
ser etérea,
porque rocha.

Dizer não
para a prosa
que é poética,
para a frase
desconexa
e canora.

Dizer sim
ao poeta
que bem mede
sua resma,
que a engaveta.

Dizer não
ao poeta
que proscreve
o que é régua,
fita métrica.

Dizer sim
à ficção
sempre magra,
seca e parca.

Dizer não
à ficção
que se espalha,
toda graxa.

Dizer sim
mesmo ao não
(se exercício).

Dizer não
mesmo ao sim
(se já vício).

Dizer sim
ante o não.

Dizer não
ante o sim.

Dizer sim.

Dizer não.

THE YES AND THE NO — FROM THE HESITATION OF THE VERSE

Saying yes
to the poem
ground floor,
between the streets,
rejecting
the heights
and turbulent
sicknesses.

Saying no
to the poem
from the width,
given to the moon,
having wings
and floating,
and is desperate
when landing.

Saying yes
to the analgesic
speech
of the sweating,
the novalginic
speech
of the antivirus.

Saying no
to the hectic
speech,
of the shaking,
the convulsive
speech
of delirium.

Saying yes
to the poetic
tending to prose,
which doesn’t know
being ethereal,
for being rock.

Saying no
to the prose
which is poetical,
to the disconnected
singing
phrase.

Saying yes
to the poet
who well measures
his volume,
and shoves it away.

Saying no
to the poet
who prescribes
what is ruler,
metric tape.

Saying yes
to the fiction
always thin,
dry and lean.

Saying no
to the fiction
spread around,
wholly greasy.

Saying yes
even to the no
(if exercise).

Saying no
even to the yes
(if addiction).

Saying yes
before the no.

Saying no
before the yes.

Saying yes.

Saying no.

DIÁLOGO — DO HOMEM CÃO

O velhinho na cadeira
perguntou pra menininha:
– Quantos anos você tem?
– Cinco, ela disse quietinha.
E ele abrindo bem os olhos
(pareciam grandes bolas
de gude cheias de poeira)
respondeu, fazendo esforço:
– Também já tive cinco anos.
Mas ela desviou o olhar,
buscando sem graça o pai.

DIALOGUE — FROM MAN-DOG

The old man on the chair
asked the little lady:
– How old are you?
– Five, she said quietly.
And he, opening his eyes wide
(they looked like big marbles
dirty with dust)
answered, struggling:
– I’ve been five once.
But she turned her glance away
awkwardly looking for her father.

ME MATE COM UMA ARMA BRANCA — DO HOMEM CÃO

me mate
com uma arma branca
me dê um ippon bem dado
e indefensável
e depois me enforque devagar
com tuas cordas de náilon

solte
uma a uma
as palavras mais
detestáveis
aponte o revólver
e atire lá
onde eu morra mais rápido
mas me despache pra outra
realidade
e prove que a violência
é o fio esgarçado que
não quebra e borda
qualquer história
que mereça o nome
de nossa

vai
enfia a faca
contente assim por rasgar
cada tecido meu
sorrindo e deixando
teus dentes todos
à mostra
sem esquecer
quem esqueceria?
a bofetada
mais um golpe dado
com o cálculo
dos físicos e matemáticos

as articulações da mão vão doer
eu sei
mas não para
espero em ânsia
a pele do teu punho
colada na minha cara
o som metálico do teu tapa
e na boca do estômago
a joelhada
que me fará arfar
enquanto cuspo
com o coração tão branco
um ou dois dentes
ensanguentados

vai
descarrega
essa merda
pode esconder
uma bomba no quarto
pra que eu exploda em pedaços
pode me atropelar sem traumas
como se atropela um ciclista
sobre o asfalto
pode me retalhar com arte
e aquela precisão
anatômica
de quem pinta e é
psicopata

use a contento
spray ou gás
que me leve às lágrimas
o que for necessário
pra que reine a paz
pra que reine a paz
e se eu esboçar
reação ou espasmo
ah se eu esboçar
venha com chutes e pauladas
como se eu fosse
um saco de estopa
como se eu fosse
o pedaço de um pedaço
não nomeável
saco pedaço resto
de algo que não
sente pensa presta

e quando eu então adotar
a imobilidade dos cadáveres
não deixe de me acertar
mais uma vez
com requintes de crueldade
aqueles
que só nós dois conhecemos
nessa nossa intimidade
tão nossa e nascida
antes de nós dois

anda
depressa
solta essa merda
que já começa
pela perna
meu corpo todo
a tremer
e já antevejo
a minha vez
de odiar você

KILL ME WITH A WHITE WEAPON Kill me with a white weapon — FROM MAN-DOG

kill me
with a white weapon
ippon me hard
and indefensibly
then choke me slowly
with your nylon chords

release
one by one
the most hateful
words
point the gun
and shoot where
it kills me faster
send me away to another
reality
and prove that violence
is the strained wire that
doesn’t break and bonds
every story
deserving the name
of ours

go on
thrust the knife
happily thus for ripping
every tissue of mine
smiling and leaving
all your teeth
in the open
not fogetting
who would forget?
the punch
another blow given
with the calculus
of physicists and mathematicians

the tendons will hurt
I know
but don’t stop
I eagerly wait
the skin of your wrist
attached to my face
the metallic sound of your slap
and to my belly
the knee
that will make me gasp
as I spit
with whitened heart
one or two bloodied
teeth

go on
unload
this crap
you may hide
a bomb in my bedroom
so I’m blown to pieces
you can run me over without guilt
as one runs over a cyclist
on the asphalt
you can shred me with art
and anatomical
precision
of who paints and is
a psycho

use at your discretion
spray or gas
to take me to tears
whatever is necessary
for peace to reign
for peace to reign
and if I sketch
a reaction or spasms
oh, if I sketch
kick and hit me with a stick
as if I were
a punching bag
as if I were
an unnamed
shard of a shard
sack shard rest
of something that doesn’t
feel think help

and when I finally adopt
the immobility of corpses
hit me again
once more
with cruelty flairs
those
only we know
in our intimacy
so ours and born
before us both

go on
fast
let that crap go
which starts
from the leg
my whole body
shaking
and I see
my turn
to hate you
